Colostrum

Colostrum

Colostrum is one of the most researched natural products in the world, with over 3,000 studies published. It is an exceptional immune supplement with immune factors and growth factors that help repair skin, bones, muscle and connective tissue to help keep our bodies young. It is also exceptional for healing leaky gut quickly, and very helpful with ME and chronic fatigue.

If echinacea is a soldier fighting to keep the body’s immune system healthy, then Immunecare Colostrum is a complete army. In fact, it has 37 immune factors and a dozen growth factors that help repair skin, bones, muscle and connective tissue.

What is Colostrum?

Colostrum is arguably nature’s most effective immune system booster, and is featured in Susan Clark’s ‘What Really Works in Natural Medicine’. The ‘first milk’ produced by dairy cows in the days immediately after calving, it has a high concentration of proteins with antibodies. Colostrum is completely transferable to humans (the DNA is 98% identical to human colostrum) hence we can enjoy the significant health benefits from this natural and potent protector.

What does Colostrum do?

Rigorous scientific testing (over 3,000 published scientific papers) of Colostrum in the US and the UK has found it to:

• Improve energy levels

• Increase concentration

• Help control pain

• Promote healing

• Boost the immune system

What can it help?

Its composition is so potent and varied that it can be used to help a wide range of conditions. In particular it can:

• Heal and protect against gastrointestinal disorders including IBS, Colitis, Leaky Gut and Crohn’s Disease

• Help minimise the effects of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME, Fibromyalgia and Glandular Fever

• Protect against colds, 'flu, ear, nose and chest infections

• Help heal wounds and minimise skin disorders

• Enhance fitness levels among athletes and speed up recovery

• Minimise the effects of autoimmune disorders including MS, Lupus, Scleroderma and Rheumatoid Arthritis

Many people who were bottle and not breast fed from birth, missed out on their mother's colostrum which helps form the basis of our "payers patches" essentially our immune system in the bowel. They can be more susceptible to bowel conditions and low immunity, so taking Colostrum as an adult (or child) can go some way to rebuilding the bowel as it should have been.

Dosage instructions

Immunecare Colostrum comes in bottles of 120 vegetarian capsules, which is a normal month’s supply. We use only 100% pure colostrum from New Zealand and Australia, from pasture fed and free ranging cows. We source higher strength colostrum, with an IgG content of 22%. Most colostrums are around 15% IgG. Our pure Colostrum is guaranteed hormone, pesticide and antibiotic free, and we only source ethically collected supplies where the calf is not deprived or harmed in any way. Ther are two methods of introducing colostrum into your diet, the first involves a short period of 8 capsules a day split into two dosages, then drop to 4 a day maintainence dose. The second is for people that are more sensitive to supplements or maybe have a mild dairy or lactose intolerance - take 1 capsule on the first day, 2 on the second and so on until you reach 8 a day over 2 seperate dosages, then drop to 4 capsules a day over 2 dosages. Colostrum can be more effective if mixed with saliva so the capsules can be opened up and added to water or juice.

Contraindications

Although Immunecare Colostrum may be taken by those suffering from lactose intolerance with no ill effects (as the lactose is minimal), we do not recommend that you take colostrum if you suffer from a clinically diagnosed dairy allergy. Taking colostrum can cause the body to have a detox so you may experience some bloating, discomfort or even mild pain in scarred areas of the body (as colostrum helps heal old wounds). This should pass within 5 days. If you are uncomfortable drop your dose for a few days then try again. There has been no research to see if taking colostrum effects foetal development however some colostrum companies actively market it to pregnant women due to its high nutrient and immune boosting properties. Anecdotal evidence suggests many owmen have taked it during pregnancy will no ill effects, however it can not be clinicially reccommeded due to lack of research.
