Introduction to Holistic Nutrition

Learn how to treat illness naturally and make your own healing remedies, beauty products, health foods and nutrient packed snacks!!

This one day self help course will not only give you practical experience at making your own home remedies, but it will also cover aspects of digestion, the human body and the cause of illness. Simple natural advice on how to treat every day complaints like hayfever, eczema, asthma, arthritis, athletes foot, IBS, thrush and cystitis with ingredients you will find in your kitchen cupboards or back garden. We will also be exploring Superfoods like Raw Chocolate, Bee Pollen, Maca and Barleygrass and looking at simple ways for you to include them in your daily diet . All recipes are wheat, dairy and sugar free so it is suitable for Coeliacs, Diabetics, Dairy Allergy and Candida sufferers. Recipes do contain nuts and seeds so are not suitable for nut allergy sufferers. You can also request to cover the treatment of specific ailments. You will also cover nutritional basics helping you balance your diet and use natural vitamin and mineral supplements to gain optimum health.

The course is an excellent first step for those either wishing to help themselves and family, or those who would like to go onto qualify as a Food Intolerance Practitioner or Holistic Nutritionist. This course forms part of the Foundation Certificate in Holistic Nutrition and you can go onto complete the course if you wish at a mutually suitable date.

The content of the course is split into 4 modules:

1. Basics of nutritionthe role of fats, carbs, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fibre & water in the health of the human body(plus calories & metabolism)

2. Superfoods & everyday healthy eating Properties of superfoods, how to incorporate them into your daily life & demonstration of recipes with time to make your own.

3. The human body & digestion the digestive system, immune system, things that can go wrong and how to improve the functioning of body systems.

4. Detox & self help remediessafe ways to detox and how to make your own home remedies for specific complaints.
